Web 200.0

I thought that social media might make for a good post for the beginner, after all, that’s what a blog is.  I did the Google thing to kinda narrow the storm of information.  I was thinking that focus as a beginner is really important as there is just so much that needs to be done when trying to establish one’s blog.  It’s really a zoo out there.  I can’t really make heads or tails of all the options that are available to the blogger when it comes to social media choices. Most “Pro Bloggers” use some of them though.  But which or what is the most important.  After having done my research my list is impressive.  However,  trying to research Web 2.0 in a morning so that I can post,  just ain’t going to get it.  So ….. in the future I am going to add a Top 10 Web 2.0 Social Media Websites list,  you can look for this around March.

But I don’t think I need a list to identify the most important of all Web 2.0 tools.  I think I have this right.  It’s Twitter.

I’m going to cop a few lines from Wikipedia here as I am at a lost as to how to exactly define or explain Twitter.  Here goes: Twitter is a free social networking and microblogging service that enables its users to send and read messages known as tweets. Tweets are text-based posts of up to 140 characters displayed on the author’s profile page and delivered to the author’s subscribers who are known as followers. Senders can restrict delivery to those in their circle of friends or, by default, allow open access. Users can send and receive tweets via the Twitter website, Short Message Service (SMS) or external applications.
