Time To Build Your Blog – Lesson 4

You should now be ready to look at how to build your blog and this can be one of the hardest things you will do.  If you follow my lead,  I can save you a great deal of pain.  In ways I was lucky when I started out,  I had someone in California that was willing to work with me.  He really had no time to do this,  but after paying him about $1000.00,  I was off and running with all of the right parts.  It was really just blind luck,  but now that I have had time to assess what I have been through and have been exposed to many more blogging materials,  I can say that in my case,  I couldn’t have hit it any better if I’d had aimed it !

There are two ways to do things in blogging,  one,  letting someone do it for you,  (not a good idea) or do it yourself.  When you have someone do your blogging for you,  not only can you find someone to build your blog,  host your blog,  manage your blog,  you can actually have someone write your blog.  Ok …….. what’s the point ?  If you profit,  those that manage will receive the profit.  We call this stupid is as stupid does …….. however, people do it.  If this is your intent,  you need to find someone else to help you with your blogging as I am not your answer …….. sorry !

If you are going to do this and are serious about profiting from it as well as being taken seriously,  you are going to have to met some guidelines.  If you are going to run with the big dogs in the tall weeds, your going to have to do things the way things are done.

First,  you will need a CMS, (Content Management System) there are several to choose from,  but do yourself a huge favor and go with “WordPress“.  While support is questionable from WordPress through what they term their “Codex“,  the support within the blogging community is second to none.  It’s awesome,  and you will need this support at one time or another.

Next you will need what is called a “Premium Template” or “Premium WordPress Template” to design your blog around.  “StuidoPress” is a great choice here. You can click on the “Tower Ad” on the Home Page of my blog here at Bloggers Market.com.  More on WordPress and Templates Next Week.
