The Clash Coming To A Blog Near You

Some stories, posts, or thoughts just refuse to leave us.  I’ve been turning one over in my mind all day.  There is a constant clash within the Blogosphere over the Blogger’s power to reach readers, which is an intrinsically great goal,  versus the Blogger’s need to sell products (and I thought I was going to have trouble finding content to write about everyday).  Man, this is stressful…. at least to me.  I love my readers: however, I have to make a living at this Blog thing too.  Enter the numbers thing!

It takes numbers to run a Blog, to run a Government, to run a Business. So those in my Social Community are in a constant state of debate over “The Numbers”.  To me this seems so distant to what we do with our Blogs.  I mean, I know that numbers are important to any Blog, but we tend to throw them around, debate them, discuss them, as if they were the common denominator to our profits and success. Just the stuff of business. If fact they are! But those numbers are “REAL PEOPLE“  Now I understand that if the “Back End” is neglected, then you will wind-up being a writer with no income.

Maybe I’ve been at this for so long that I’ve just developed a different approach to the numbers thing for business.  I think of the products after my day is complete, not during the day….not during the course of Blogging.  I’m totally locked-in to the “Front End” when I come in to work. I think about my readers, and about providing the best content on the web.

Eventually this is going to pay-off ……. big ……. if I have patience, and I don’t worry about the numbers.  Conduct yourself as a professional, and the numbers… along with the money… will take care of themselves!
