The Art of Non-Conformity

I thought I would take this week’s post and once again highlight what I think is one of the year’s best E-Books, “279 Days to Overnight Success”. I wrote in Jeffrey’s Corner of this fascinating work. When I review the different works and content that are used to compile this site, I take into account that I am out there competing with the very best in the world. I absolutely have to have the best and brightest on this site. Chris Guillebeau gives me that edge.

This is Chris’ second manifesto. The first, entitled “A Brief Guide to World Domination,” is written for those individuals who are interested in living life on their own terms while making a dramatic, positive difference in the lives of others at the same time. I highly recommend it; however, it is not for everyone and may even leave one with an Algeristic feeling.

“279 Days to Overnight Success” is a remarkable guide to becoming a pro-blogger. This guide is divided into three parts: How To Become A Pro-Blogger In 10 Months; Fire Google And Hire Yourself; and Short Notes On Vampires; Rule-Breaking; E-Mail Lists, etc. For those on the fly, Chris breaks up his strategy into 4 quick bites. I can assure you that once you start this read, you will want to continue as well as take notes.

His focus is really aimed at communicating the fact that you can do this pro-blogging / social marketing concept if you are willing to commit the time and effort, which he estimates at about 1 to 2 years. Not in 30 days or 12 steps as some suggest. I concur.

This is a rather short post, as posts go, but I already sense that you are ready to read this compelling work without further delay.
