Imagine That

I thought I would pick-up where I left off on Friday, with the discussion of Social Media for New Bloggers. I have to give credit where credit is due and I need to pass on thanks to Sean Malarkey for this insight into Social Media and the potential for the Blogger. I’ve never given it much thought really, I just know that my traffic spikes when I pass along something unique. Lesson learned; staying on point is good for business, but a well placed “break” in the action can do wonders for your traffic!

Sean recommends that you stay with educational and inspirational content during office hours and provide the lighter side of Social Media such as this video in the evening hours. By providing your content to your Social Media sites that you use, you are sure to pick up plenty of Re-Tweets which will inevitably drive traffic to your Blog. Now enjoy the video!

Build It And They Won’t Come

Static Adsense Blogs

After you build a Blog,  then what?  Well …… it might be a good idea to post something!  Building that way-cool-blog is just the first step on the long road to prosperity. Unfortunately I have too many of my customers that purchase my Blogs that just want an Auto-Blog. They never say that in so many words, but they betray their true intentions with their actions.

I took notice that Google has over a trillion URL’s listed, yet they have just over 200 million websites listed. That’s over four fifths that are sitting on the sidelines waiting for something to happen.

The most discouraging thing I see on the Internet is the so call promotion of “adsense sites” I can remember that at one time I saw where someone had gone to the trouble of building websites for all of the major sports teams (I mean all of them) and had monetized them with adsense and was asking $500.00 for the collection. I thought to myself how that was not really enough to cover the registration fees for the domain names. All those sites and adsense for all those sites was not worth $500.00.

The short of it; is that having static sites really aren’t worth the investment. With a blog, I have seen them advertised as “Auto-Sites” where your content is upgraded with a series of syndication links. I actually have several of these and have yet to earn a dime of income.

Don’t think just because you build a Blog, that all you have to do is post and wait for the traffic to roll in.  That may have been the model several years ago, but not now.  If we all put our thoughts together,  I think that we can come up with the operative keyword here ……….SOCIAL MEDIA!
