Internet Marketing – Lesson 8

Producing back-end products, as well as launching products is not for the faint of heart. In a perfect world this should be left to professionals, or rather out-sourced. However, unless you yourself understand this process, you will have marginal experiences with outsourcing.

This week we will be looking at the individual pieces to the product launch.

First, I want to again caution you on the fact that I or anyone cannot fully explain this process of “Internet Marketing” within a Blog post or series of Blog posts. As with any endeavor worth undertaking, experience plays a big part in your success. And experience you can’t find in an E-Book or DVD-Boxset, let alone a Blog post.

Once you have a product in mind or completed, you will have to provide a structure from which to work from. By that I mean, you will have to decide how you want to deliver that product to your market and then begin the process of producing materials for its promotion.

I’m going to place this process in a list, as this is an easier way for you to get the picture.

  • Product Production
  • Bonus/Gifts Production
  • Announcement To Your Mailing List
  • Announcement To Your Affiliates
  • Production Of Artwork For Product
  • Production Of Artwork For Affiliates
  • Design Of Squeeze Pages
  • Design Of Landing Pages
  • Work On Ad Campaign
  • Construction Of Shopping Cart
  • Designs Of Any Up-sells or Cross-sells
  • Design Of Launch Functions
  • Design of Social Promotion
  • Formal Launch
  • Customer Service Functions

Internet Marketing – Lesson 7

That last paragraph within last weeks post was a bit confusing. I understand that on the one hand I am telling you to place multiple products on the market at one time and on the other hand I’m mentioning that you are not going to bring anything new to the market.

By that I mean that you can only be taught Internet Marketing only once. And once you learn, that’s it, you know pretty much know all there is to know about Internet Marketing. It’s like learning how to drive a car. Once you know, you know! That goes for teaching as well. You can cover the subject just so much. Once you teach it, you have taught it!

So why produce any products at all? You will have to gain experience somehow and this is the best way. And when the time comes for you to produce your own original ideas, you will be ready to produce a killer product. For instance, I thinking of producing a product on how to use Python for the scripting of the Gnome desktop. Do you know how to do this? Probably not! However, if I told you that I was going to produce a product on WordPress Plug-ins, most reading this would know this topic, because this subject has been written about extensively. Even abstract subjects such as “Sales Copy” and “Ad Management” have been covered fairly well.

While my examples focus on the Internet Marketing Niche, this would apply to any niche that you may have in mind. If you are interested in promoting “Travel”. I would stay away from promoting anything “Caribbean” and maybe focus on “Antarctica Touring”. Than when they open-up “Area 51″ to tourist, you’ll be ready to rock!

Internet Marketing – Lesson 6

Last week I started down the road of explaining about back-end products for your Blog. I’m going to follow through with outlining the process this week.

Once you have several hundred souls on-board your mailing list you are now ready to promote your own products. Try to keep this in mind. You want to design at least three (3) products at once and build on that with other ideas. You see, you will not sell everything that you design and build. You will be lucky if you sell $10,000.00 of product with 2 of every 10 products you bring to the market.

If you have three going at the same time you will not be sidetracked with a disappointment or two and then quit. Keeping busy with other designs and builds will keep you from sweating the details of sales by watching those products moment by moment.

Keep in mind that the more you produce the better your odds are of finding a great product and producing a gem with all the experience you have gathered. Your up-sales, cross-sells, and down-sales will be better also. Not to mention that your odds are better at finding a product that sells $100,000.00 dollars worth or even more.

Try to stay away from dead deals like WordPress. While you might be able to sell something of yours that deals with a new twist in themes designs with WordPress, you are more likely to find a more lucrative market with special products like “Scripts Marketing” which is something that you see relatively little about.

One last word of caution …… unless you are a marketing brain, remember this, you ain’t the only game in town. And as far as Internet Marketing goes. It is what it is, much like anything else. You ain’t going to bring anything new to the table. That’s why you see the big names in Internet Marketing working with private clients instead of releasing new products all the time. You can cover your niche only so far and that’s it. You will have nothing else to add really.

I’ll go into this last paragraph in more detail next week.
