Take This Job And Shove It

As my time here at Bloggers Market draws to a close ( I know I’m repeating myself from last week ), I’m taking time for reflection. Reflection on where I’ve come and where it is that I’m going. As you have no doubt witnessed I have moved away from the lesson’s or training on this site for the new Bloggers and have become a bit more philosophic in my approach to writing and Blogging in general.

Trending

You’ll see this trend continue with a greater variance in topics as time goes on. This is truly what has precipitated my move to my new Blogging Home. As I have moved away from “Make Money Blogging” and started to “Philosophize” I’ve seen my traffic increase 3 fold. As I have stopped catering to the niche and started to write for just the sake of writing, I’ve also had a bit more fun.

Cashing In

As I have crossed the open desert of Internet Marketing, I’ve been able to find an oasis or two along the way that at the very least will provide me with the necessary income to continue to bend your ear. These skills were hard-won and were never found in any type of E-Book.

My Table Was Already Set

I came to this table, prepared ….. I wouldn’t say as an extreme professional, but by-George I wasn’t far off that shore!

I’ll have to admit that I was a little more than surprised in how difficult it was for me to establish myself Online; I’m not done yet. I’ve seen many a good Blogger come and go. This at times has been of greater surprise than other aspects of this business.

The Toughest Niche

At least in this niche ( a niche that Darren Rowse calls the toughest around as most coming in to this niche already have a good idea of what it is that they are doing and don’t as a whole or market, buy a lot of e-products ) the competition and the attrition rate are horrid. I truly shutter to think of all the money that has been spent and lost by those who just could not make a go of it.

My own sales figures bear this out, as I track those who purchase my products and services. My products are as close to perfect as I can get them, however they are hard to sell and once purchased fall to a quick decay 8 times in 10. Such is Internet Marketing. I’m selling a product or service that is desired, but lack of action and commitment by those customers involved lead to entrepreneurial bankruptcy. This problem is systemic.

Everyone Wants To Sing

Everyone wants to be an entrepreneur, but few have what it takes. No one wants to work with others anymore. Our education system is in disarray. Too many people; too few resources.

Think of all the information that is available to all on the Internet today. A year’s study Online would have made you a genius back in the 1800′s. Yet so few are able to take that information and make it work for them.

Anyone For Boot camp ?

Now I understand that as far as info on the net is concerned, most is social or entertainment in nature. But there is a fair amount of educational information that few take advantage of. Most have no idea how to use it; that’s why you see so many “boot camps”. Those that want to make a difference with their lives realize that after offering a product, too few who purchase actually know how to deploy or use those products, leading to all the “boot camps” you see. For those who lack even the common understanding of that term; here it is: It’s called “basic training”.

Take This Job And …

So here it is that we have all of these good folks Online with little if any education that have told the boss to take their jobs and shove them and then throw caution to the wind and proclaim themselves entrepreneurs. They see the liqueur of low investment with starting a business or Blog Online and start drinking only to become drunk and pass-out.

If only these so-called entrepreneurs would drink in moderation, the web would be a much safer and profitable place for the rest of us.

The Singularity Of Blogging

One Lane Blogging

Well, it’s April Fool’s Day, and I guess I’ll stay the course as it looks like Darren Rowse and Jordan Cooper are both in the dog house with their April Fool’s posts …….. I don’t think I want to go there!  I’m very much a trench Blogger anyway.

I was thinking of all the Bloggers who post earnings online and seeing how its the first of the month,  I thought I would take a look.  It helps me to get a feel for the market.  I’m just going to hit the highlights of what I am beginning to define after a year of looking at these reports.  First, those earning 5 figures a month,  earn 2 figures in Adsense.  Absolutely astounding, earning $75,000 a month and earning $47.00 in Adsense.  Be still my heart.  The flip side is that I just got finished last month reading a report on Google earnings for Adsense for Domains.  A half billion a year!!!  Bloggers welfare indeed!

Affiliate income is not much better, but I sure could pay my bills with what I am seeing in reported Affiliate income!  But I’m just not so sure that I would want to bank my future on those earnings.  When I review the income that these Bloggers make of their own products ………. now we’re talkin’ boy ohh!  Talk about astounding, I’ll be Blogging until the cows refuse to come home for the type of income I am seeing reported in this category.

I have been cautioned to not rush to judgment, but I am finding that these reports are consistent, when all factors are taken into account. And please realize that I have only been doing this for a year, so I am not a definitive authority on this subject.

The bottom line is this, it looks like with all of the income streams, only two are worth considering, one is the ad income for ones site and the other, which is the meat or the single driving force for anyones Blog is their own product line. You can throw in an affiliate offer or two for good measure if you care to.  Interesting!!!

What To Write About ? How About Darren Rowse

I awoke this morning with a content issue …….. I had none.  I thought I would knock around all the usual places (news sites mainly) and do a little reading,  nothing really jumped out at me.  So I thought I would start a Google and see what came up ……. nothing really.  I like search engines,  they usually give enough info to work with when it comes to blogging content.

I thought I would go over to the Amazon search engine and see what would come up under blog and blogging.  Much like Google,  I received what seemed like endless selections.  I wanted to find out who was top dog at Amazon for the keywords,  blog and blogging,  it was Darren Rowse ….. par !  He also holds the number four spot at Google for the keyword Blogging at the time of this post.

While reading the pitch for his products,  I noticed that he got his start in 2002 and really did not go full-time until late 2004 or early 2005.  You will find his story,  background and his blogging time line by clicking here.

This is someone who can make tens of thousands of dollars a day, not a month.  He’s been at it now going on 8 years,  but what I want you as a beginner to focus on is the fact that it took him about 3 years to go full-time with blogging,  or in his words to become a “problogger“.

Getting a start in Blogging is easy and hard at the same time.  The money is slow to grow,  but look at the potential in 10 years.  Patience is a really big virtue when it comes to Blogging.
