After five months you should have things pretty much sorted out with your new Blog. Now, just keep hitting it with your content. Really focus on keeping things as simple and straight forward as possible. Don’t get concern for right now with changing things with your Blog and taking a lot of time to do it. Just focus and put up content. …
Please Donate To My Blog … Again!
A couple of months ago I wrote a post concerning Blogs that seek donations. I’m not really a big fan of Blogs that seek donations for the plain fact that there are better ways to monetize a Blog. I caught some static from some great Bloggers on the original article that have stayed with me and after reflection, I have decided to add another post, kinda an update of sorts.
The other day I was trying to bring another Blog online; which by the way seeks donations as it main source of income, but that’s not the point here. As my work continued, I ran into a major glitch that surprised me. For the life of me I could not get the content within one category to display on my homepage. After eight hours of Googling my brains out, I was suicidal and if I didn’t come up for air soon I was going to drown!
Into the next day full of anxiety, animosity and loss of sleep I found my answer, in the form of a plug-in. After installing the plug-in, I was simply amazed at the complexity of such a piece of software. I’ve seen some smokin’ hot plug-ins before, but man, … this takes the cake. I can just image the effort that went into this! This plug-in will let you organize for display any category, page, post, widget, or your cat’s nine lives any way you want! I absolutely marvel at someone sitting down, designing and writing this plug-in. Check this out!!! http://ace.dev.rain.hu/
Donate indeed!!! As I stated in the first post, I have donated to sites before for software and plug-ins. I color myself fortunate that I am allowed to donate via PayPal for such wonderful tools. Your careful consideration to the efforts of others will assure you of an enlightened future as a Blogger.
The Failing Of A Pro-Blogger

Yesterday I wrote on the new Bloggers not really being focused on the goal or idea of Blogging. This is kinda dismaying; leaving the landscape of the web ever littered with dead Blogs. Now, there is a growing trend of Pro-Bloggers that are letting their Blogs die a slow death. To be sure, Blogging is not for the faint of heart, as the level of commitment is pretty high, and the pressure great to remain popular or relevant. There are, and always will be, the new stars that enter the niche.
As I move about the Blogosphere looking for the next piece of inspiration, I am profoundly affected by the number and quality of people who have just given up on the idea of changing the world. One can understand the occasional drop-out: life is not always predictable. But it would appear that the growing trend is just to walk away, leaving the servers to hum along on their own. I’ve become accustomed to seeing Joe Blog neglect his Blog, but now when I look to the leaders of tech for a direction, or to other leaders for discussion, I get a three-month old post claiming they have gone to the beach for the weekend ………. I guess never to return.
When I dropped in on the “Blog to end all Blogs” (no names mentioned here,) I was surprised to learn that they had moved on to other adventures, citing the fact that their Blog was not profitable enough, as they had only earned $40,000.00 the year before. I’m thinking to myself, “with an Alexa rating nearly as high as Google? I don’t get it!”. I mean, I can understand that the bills have to be paid; but wrap your brain around the leverage you have, and the opinions you influence, when your Blog reaches that high a level! The degree of apathy is a little much for me.
Blogging gives you a voice that can be heard by millions. You & I can change the world and make a difference from this platform. I don’t think this should be dismissed haphazardly.
What difference do you think you can make, one man in all this madness? * Sean Penn quoted from “The Thin Red Line” *
For a final thought, I would like to turn it over to Bryan Thompson for a more down to earth prospective! Click here if you dare!!!
