Google Caffeine Delivers

I thought I would do a follow-up on Google Caffeine, the new search engine project from Google. As you know, if you read and follow this Blog, I’m just not real big on Google. I like some of their services such as Goolge Earth and Goolge Analytics. I’m not a fan of Adsense, Adwords, or G-Mail. And their search engine after 15 months of posts; 6 months posting every single day is just dreadful. With 14 Blogs now, I don’t rank for anything other than the Blogs name. Amazing ……..Simply Amazing. Enter the smoke and mirrors of SEO. Please!!!!! ……..

I see about 3000 uniques a month and I have to knock on every door of every visitor to get them to visit my site. After I look at traffic for the month, I’m lucky if I see 12% from search engines. Well, Google ain’t the only game in town. There are literally dozens if not hundreds of search engines out there. Again after looking at several different traffic softwares, I see 99.8947 percent of the 12% search engine traffic coming from Google and the rest ……… well let’s just say it makes for an interesting pie graph.

Now comes Google Caffeine! Just great. Oh joy. Here we go with more hype about my 12% of nothing. I do better with Twitter.

Google Caffeine has been active about a week. That’s plenty of time for the search engine to do its thing. So I thought I would take a look at one of my latest post to see how the new “Caffeine” was working. Well, well! Yes, I finally have my first linking in Google. Position 1&2 on page 1 no less. Now we’re talking. I know that I won’t hold on to that position for long, but that’s not the point. I should hold down the first spot if I’m working at providing quality content every single day at least for a time. And if that’s means I rank at 400 after day 3 because of all the other Bloggers, I’m fine with that. But I’m over the foolishness of having breaking news and not even finding a link in the first 9,000,000 pages or “results”.

The Singularity Of Blogging

Well, it’s April Fool’s Day, and I guess I’ll stay the course as it looks like Darren Rowse and Jordan Cooper are both in the dog house with their April Fool’s posts …….. I don’t think I want to go there! I’m very much a trench Blogger anyway.

I was thinking of all the Bloggers who post earnings online and seeing how its the first of the month, I thought I would take a look. It helps me to get a feel for the market. I’m just going to hit the highlights of what I am beginning to define after a year of looking at these reports. First, those earning 5 figures a month, earn 2 figures in Adsense. Absolutely astounding, earning $75,000 a month and earning $47.00 in Adsense. Be still my heart. The flip side is that I just got finished last month reading a report on Google earnings for Adsense for Domains. A half billion a year!!! Bloggers welfare indeed!

Affiliate income is not much better, but I sure could pay my bills with what I am seeing in reported Affiliate income! But I’m just not so sure that I would want to bank my future on those earnings. When I review the income that these Bloggers make of their own products ………. now we’re talkin’ boy ohh! Talk about astounding, I’ll be Blogging until the cows refuse to come home for the type of income I am seeing reported in this category.

I have been cautioned to not rush to judgment, but I am finding that these reports are consistent, when all factors are taken into account. And please realize that I have only been doing this for a year, so I am not a definitive authority on this subject.

The bottom line is this, it looks like with all of the income streams, only two are worth considering, one is the ad income for ones site and the other, which is the meat or the single driving force for anyones Blog is their own product line. You can throw in an affiliate offer or two for good measure if you care to. Interesting!!!
