Learning To Cope – Lesson 14

As you frame your Blog, with ideas, content, ads and affiliate offers, sooner or later you will face the daunting aspect of coping with a growing concern; your Blog! It kinda sinks in slowly at first, after all you’ve gotten WordPress installed and your template in place, you’ve written some articles and you’ve had a little fun looking up affiliate offers. But now you have a problem………You’ll always have a problem! Here’s how to cope.

It would be nice if you could just sit back and write, that’s kinda the fun part, it gets more of a drag with the challenges of management and tech issues. In the beginning you really don’t pay too much attention to what is going on as you are struggling to get your Blog up and running and you really don’t have any traffic to speak of. But the idea of CMS (Content Management System) starts to take hold. You have got to manage what you are doing. Realty check!

You have to manage media, you have to manage content, you have social media content, you have server housekeeping, you have, you have, you have ……… PANIC!!!

You are going to have to realize that you will have to take control of what you are doing, you’re not going to find it in a book, or in a coaching program. Everyone’s situation is different. You’re going to have to take a deep breath and you are going to have to be patient. A good dose of discipline will really help to.

Again, I’m not suggesting you swim in tech manuals and then to grab a tool belt and start hammering on your Blog. But you need to take some time, and sort through your management challenges before they become a crisis.

Commit yourself from the beginning to spread-sheet everything, maintenance, e-books, plug-ins, whatever. Don’t forget to back-up your Blog and database before you do anything new or challenging.
