Laying A Blogging Foundation – Lesson 1

As I sit down to post on building a proper “Blogging Foundation” I usually think of providing information to someone who has been working for a number of years and is thinking about a change and wants to explore online commerce is some shape, way, or form. After all, I’m 52 this year. So to provide bankable information for a 14 year old who just got a computer this Christmas and wants to take on the world, is really beyond the scope of this instruction. I’m afraid that a teenager will tag me as having gone round the bend when I provide instructions on finding a comfortable chair, when they are just fine on the milk crate that holds their video games.

As one get’s older, one tends to want to be sure that all the bases are covered before leaping into a new thing with whatever resources have been allocated for the adventure. My style of instruction will best suit this type of individual. So for the young who visit ………. chill and pull up a milk crate. You might just learn something new!

Blogging, Internet Marketing or Online Commerce starts with a thought or desire. While some will want to start blogging for a hobby most will start with the intent of earning some type of income. Most will surf around wasting time looking at all sorts of sites after Googling a number of search criteria. They may even scratch out some thoughts on paper. Most will lack direction.

One thing is certain, Blogging is the perfect way for the common Joe to profit online. So however it is that you find yourself here, you just caught a huge break. Blogging is all I really do. Spend a year with me and you will be well on your way to earning a living online. Make no mistake, please, they only way that you will prosper online is with drive, desire and imagination. Displine and hard work will help. There is no such thing as an “Easy As E-Mail” and “No Computer Skills Required” approach to Blogging or any online endeavor.

Blogging is truly the next thing and can happen right now if you really sit down and bust your butt to get where you need to be.

Where does a person need to be? That’s up to them.

I love blogging because I can come up with creative articles that are real and actually help people and share what I know with the world all the while building long term relationships and later make money by doing so.

Blogging should really be considered a job to more people.

I agree that blogging is a good option for people to start making a bit of money. The problem as I see it is that often people expect that they can start making good money from the get go. There is a lot involved in blogging before the money truck rolls up the driveway, not the least of which is hard work.

Article series such as this one helps people to lay a strong foundation upon which they can build – and eventually build a good blog income.

    Hi Valentina,
Good of you to drop by!
I have story in “Blogging 2010-Manual One” in which I make reference to a Blogger who had a pretty good idea to make several thousand dollars a week. He was pitching this idea to the new guys. Only problem, upon closer inspection of the idea he was pitching, was that he had put in at least a year building the structure within his Blog to take advantage of the opportunity. New Guys don’t have a structure with which to work with. Kinda disingenuous if you ask me!

Hi. I am new to this site and new to blogging. Sure it would a fantasy come true to make millions from blogging, but I am positive it will take a lot of hard work. My struggle is understanding a concept as to how money can be made from a blog if all you have is your own information? I feel drawn to blogging to share my experiences and story with others in hopes of inspiring others to change their lives and believe in themselves. I am a working wife and mother and am on a very small income due to the economy, but I have alot to offer others in ways of motivation. Any feed back would be amazing.

    Hi Patricia,
Thanks for your recent comment! Your half way home. First and most importantly you need passion for what it is that you Blog about. You have to deal with the Blogging learning curve, once stable, than you look at the monetizing of your Blog. For now, grab a helmet and get in the game! You’ll be glad you did.

Hi Sally, Thanks for stopping by. If there’s anything I can help you with!

  9. I use my blog to plug my new novel, I write poetry short stories, and novels. I write article content and I have an ongoing blog. Therefore as a promotion I give away very good mlm ebooks that help you set up a website or blog and monetise it. I have been very successful. I sold 73 copies of my novel this week, not bad I’d say and I gave away 10 mlm ebooks to every one of them. http://newnovelannouncement.blogspot.com/

People love free stuff. That’s the key. Last year hershey’s was giving away candy bars, so I set up a blog where you could download and print many coupons and get free candy to boot. The blog did extremely well.

So if you are going to invest time in a blog, give something away for free, and ask the people who stop by to buy a product you are promoting.
