Instant Attention Notice

Mailing List

Tomorrow is going to be Opt-In day, as I am going to have several good resources for you that deal with building your list that I have come up with as I have done my research for this series. So you definitely want to stop back by tomorrow.

As I have done research on the mailing list issue, I have come up on all kinds of tips and tricks that I think will be better shared if you just do the opt-in thing tomorrow. However there was one thing that I had totally forgotten about that is really a critical part of building a list. That’s the “Instant Attention Notice”.

For the record I just cannot stand in any shape, way, or form an “Instant Attention Notice” or what is commonly know and referred to as a “Pop-Over Form”. However I am going to have to eventually place one on my site somewhere! As I have worked with stats on my mailing list I have come up with the same results that most other marketers get with static opt-ins. Poor!

An “Instant Attention Notice” is really the only way to go, as all of the marketers with Blogs use them in some way. I just hate them! The “Instant Attention Notice” is that absolutely awful pop-up notice that drops down, springs to life, or comes screaming at you from all corners of a Blog and totally shuts down or otherwise makes useless the content that you were trying to read, unless you opt-in. If you try to hit the control menu button to turn off the window, than you are hit with another message or two about how life as you know it, is now over unless you sign-up for the offer.

I have seen the “Instant Attention Notice” in several forms. The one I like the best is the one that at least gives you, like 30 seconds or so to get oriented with the site before popping up and can usually be turned off pretty easily ( EDITORS NOTE: This system that I am refering to here is Pop-up Domination and is well worth the $47.00 ). It will also disappear all together for good after you opt-in now matter how many times you come back to the site, it will not reappear.

The real problem for me ………………… the “Instant Attention Notice” converts at least a 5 to 10 times better rate than any other type of opt-in form. I just wonder how many visitors opt-in just to get rid of the annoying singing pop-up!
