Well it’s that time of the year again and I thought I would take literary license and re-print the most popular post I have yet to write. The good news of course is that this year, dear Phil is predicting a quick end to this years winter ….. which is a good thing, because if Phil predicted six more weeks of winter with what we have already gone through this year, he’d be out of a job for sure! Enjoy Everyone and I’ll see ya soon.

It has come to the attention of all those who are dependent on the services of Punxsutawney Phil, that PETA (People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals) has stepped in to end his tenure as the future forecaster of the nation’s weather, at least when it comes to six weeks of it.

A robotic stand-in is in the running for the six-week, sixty-five million dollar contract that Phil will have to fore-go, handing the economy one more lost job. Phil reached at his burrow, was reported to have made the comment to William Deeley the he “was treated better than the average child in Pennsylvania”

“It’s very ridiculous” said Deeley, president of The Groundhog Club. Negotiating contracts and Union concessions is not easy at this late hour. Phil was in the final preparations for his annual appearance which takes place on Tuesday February 2, 2010, when notified of the potential changes.

PETA concerned about Phil’s hibernation habits, made no mention of the loss of Phil’s Health Care Benifits that are part of his contract which is especially contentious at this time considering the present health care debate. Phil went on to say to this blogger when reached at his burrow at Gobbler’s Knob that “it does no good to be concerned about my hibernation if I can’t make the rent on the burrow or afford health care. And having held the same position for the last 120 years, I’m just a little too old to be making a “fresh start”.

It also was mentioned by Deeley that “I couldn’t talk to a robot and the robot couldn’t talk groundhogese“!

With Phil’s options limited, it is all but apparent that Phil will have to take up blogging to cover his unexpected short-fall. You can reach phil at his website here.

You can download the trouble-makers …….. err PETA’s letter to Punxsutawney Phil here at this link.

My how the time flies when you’re having fun! Another year gone. I sometimes wonder about the passing of time and the challenges we face. As far as years go this one has been a bitch! You have no idea. I wouldn’t live it again for any amount of money. I sometimes wonder about how much challenge one is expected to handle over time.

I’ve had a good year Blogging though! I’ve loved doing this. It would be great if I could make a living at it. However, monies come from the technical side of things and this really is my strong suit. And the demands for my time continue to mount when it comes to the techie stuff.

This is to be my last post for the year. I’m taking down Bloggers Market.com in about 18 hours from now. I’ll be back of course on the 1st of January 2011. Things will be very different though. I will only be posting about once a week and I will be working over at Blogging Extreme as my main base of operation. I’ll also be doing a lot more guest posting on other Blogging sites.

Until we meet again, have a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year! God Bless Everyone.

Well I’m ahh going alright! It’s now two weeks before the end of the year and I’m busier then ever (I’m about to drop, I’m so tired). I sit here trying the best that I can to visualize what the next month will look like, and I just can’t do it. However, I do know that things will change dramatically. As I learn more and more about Blogging; and by Blogging I don’t necessarily mean writing, I mean writing and running a business, the more I continue to press into the future with a well-defined approach.

The demands for my time on the technical side have really grown this past year and I am having to accommodate this trend. All things given to reason I will not be here at Bloggers Market Full-Time next year. As a matter of fact tomorrow will be my last post for the year. I’ll be taking down the site at midnight for a complete re-build. Oh joy!!!
I love to tinker!

As I stated above I’m not really sure where it is that I will land in the coming months, but I do have some sort of fuzzy picture. Bloggers Market will become more like ….. well a Bloggers Market. More on that later. It’s best if you just see the site at the beginning of the year. I’ll be posting to the homepage instead of “Jeffrey’s Corner” and I will only be posting once a week on Saturday’s. The content will be much more focused as I have a better idea of what it is that I want to provide to the Bloggers of the Blogosphere.

I’d love to find my niche and go for it, but I’m afraid I’m not wired that way. I have a number of projects in the works and will provide details as they become available.

See ya tomorrow.

This post kinda hit me at the right moment. I just got through going through my spam folder here at Bloggers Market.com. It would really be nice if everyone involved with Blogging had a Gravatar, but they don’t. I hate to discard anyone who really wants to comment on the Blog yet gets caught in the vortex of the funnel that is “Akismet“.

I dutifully go through each and every comment in my Blogs Spam file, at least up until this point. I’m slowly losing momentum. I have so much to do that I just can’t justify the time any longer. If I had as many real comments as spam comments I’d be ruling the world. However there is gold in them-there-hills.

If you look closely at some of these sites that are spamming you, you will notice that some of these sites have a treasure trove of information on their sites that you can mine for your own uses. You’ll have to use your imagination here.

I’ll be releasing new rules for my comments section in the future. I should have them in place by now, but I was hoping against hope that I would not have to do this. I’ll continue to mine for gold of course. I’ll just have to adapt a hit or miss strategy. After all, I think that’s what Gold mining was all about for the 49′ers back in the old days.

It’s a rough day here in the south. Rainy, a little cold …… raw. I’m in to the year-end thing I wrote about a week ago. I’m thinking about and working for next year now. No real organized effort to educate the public. I’m afraid you’ll have to read my past posts. Today ………….. well, today, I’m just thinking out loud.

Very seldom do I take this Blog in a personal direction. But with the end of the year upon us ………. why not.

I was thinking about my readership and the way of the future for myself and well as the Internet marketer and their Blogs. I couldn’t help notice that Frank Kern has a new Blog, maybe website would be a better description. I can remember when I started down this road and heard about Frank Kern taking the world by storm with “List Control” I had to get to know this person, only to find out that he had closed all his Internet marketing sites and was only taking private clients. Great I thought, right when I find the hottest thing in Internet Marketing, he decides to fold and move to the Caribbean (San Diego actually).

I’ve got this uneasy feeling about the big guns coming and going, while I steadily go bow-legged and blind trying to keep up my Blogs. The kings of the Internet always seem to be absent from the Internet some how. I wonder if in the long run that will be my fate.

I like Blogging. I like my Blogs. However, I’m making my monies elsewhere. I really want to be a Blogger. I not so sure that I like the idea of David Risley’s “Hamster Wheel” though. That thought took me in another direction ………. thinking about all the Hamster ……. err, Blogs in the world. What a monster we have created. Everyone wants to be a writer or Blogger as the case my be. With the easy access of the Internet, the whole world now has a voice. The only problem I’m afraid, is not enough readers.

No one reads, everyone writes. Very few prosper.

I like to read. I just can’t find what I am looking for on the Internet. I follow about 70 Blogs for the time being and I can count the ones that I really enjoy reading on both hands. That’s one of the reasons that I try to stick to the technical parts of Blogging as opposed to being a bore with my chatter.

So much noise and not enough readers. With a bazillion Blogs now on the Internet, it’s like trying to find a needle in a haystack …………. or sandbox.

Well here I sit on the hamster wheel thinking about the end of the year and the possibilities of the next. Looking at my site and, well …… it’s just a little long in the tooth wouldn’t you say?

I’ve mentioned in an earlier post that I am preparing for some changes at Bloggers Market.com. However, I’m sure I won’t begin that work before the end of the year. But as you can tell, I need some work. I think the template is about tapped. What a shame. I really love this template. It’s titled: “Church”. You never realize what an open sore it is until you take a look at the whole site at one time. Then, well …. it hurts.

I love Blogging, it’s been a great year and I’m looking forward to the next. As you can tell by looking at the site here, I’m at least trying!!! East of the rock and west of the hard place! That would be me.

I’ve been working on validating my xhtml code for my Blogs for the past several days and I’ll admit that I leave out an “ALT” tag here and forget to close “</a>” there, but by and large I’m really pretty clean ……… except for my “YouTube” code which I can’t validate no matter how hard I try.

One thing that has constantly provided me with a challenge is “The Villainous Affiliate Code”. Just because you sign-up for the latest affiliate product launch and you get all that cool artwork, just keep in mind that doesn’t necessarily come with a guarantee of clean code. On the contrary. I have found that the so-called pro-bloggers with the top products have the worst code.

I was watching a video from Google the other day about the validation question. And it seemed that the general consensus is that while everyone would like to validate, It’s not set in stone that you should or even have to. There really is no SEO penalty, so long as you follow protocol and don’t attempt to code while drunk ( “CUI” ). And as far as browser compatibility; I say as long as I can get it to call in I.E and Firefox, I’m good to go. You iphoners and ipaders’ will have to fend for yourselves.

My issue here is not that the affiliates can’t get the code right. Rather, it’s got me thinking about their products in general. If they can’t get the affiliate links right, what makes you think that 200 pages of affiliate product or E-Book are going to be any better.

Like I said, I myself have a few errors in my code and I continually drive my editors crazy with my writing, ( I just can’t get “your” and “you’re” straight no matter how hard I try ) that said, I do eventually get it right by going over and over the material …….. and code, again and again.

This is just one more red flag that you should be aware of when you are considering an affiliate offer from someone who you are not really all that close with……… that and the failure to pay commissions on sales is a sure clue that things are not as they should be in the “Blogosphere”.

I was thinking about all of my Internet Expenses the other day and how I was going to mange all of the services and I actually found a piece that had been written by an Internet Marketing Person that was in the process of selling me a plug-in that I need. His pitch was that who needs the popular service when you can pay him a one time flat fee. Well, I’ll admit ……… he was pitching directly to my need. Ahh yes, the goal of any self-respecting Internet Marketeer!

I’d been thinking about the course of growth for Bloggers that I visit and was noticing that the power Bloggers are as price conscious as any grocery shopper I’ve ever known. Having acquired some knowledge of how to do what it is that we do, I’ve gained some insight into what the Blogger is spending to ply his trade.

How would you like to make a $70,000 dollar sale today ……. well, that would pay some bills! But have you ever noticed that those who make the big sales: yachts, private aircraft, luxury auto’s …… they come and they go. Yet “Apple” is just knocking them done ………. a dollar at a time.

When you look at those who can mange the best during a down-turn in the economy, it’s those who are in the “CASH FLOW” business. It’s not sales that make you rich ……. it’s cash flow!!! However, the trend is headed towards ……….. just making a sale, period.

When looking at different business models, the debate is wide-ranging and seemingly never-ending, and is clearly beyond the scope of this post. I’m just trying to make a simple observation and then pass it on to my readers for their refection.

In the end, I’ve noticed that the cash flow model is not a popular one within the Blogging business. It all comes down to making the single sale and living with it!
